VEEDERSBURG — Charles E. Fishero, 46, Veedersburg funeral director and Fountain County coroner, died at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was taken to the hospital Monday after suffering a heart attack the previous day. Born in Veedersburg, Mr. Fishero was the son of Harry and Martha Cheney Fishero. He married Esther Youngblood of Veedersburg, who survives. Mr. Fishero, who was one of Veedersburg's most widely known businessmen, had operated the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg since the death of his father. He also was associated with his father in the funeral business several years. He was the fourth generation of his family to be a Veedersburg funeral director. He was executive secretary and treasurer of Indiana Coroner Assn. and had been Fountain County coroner since 1945. He was a member of Veedersburg Masonic Order, Low Twelve Club of Wallace and Veedersburg EUB Church. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are two daughters, Carolyn and Charlene Fishero, and a son, Bobby Fishero, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Lucile Young of Crawfordsville, and a brother, Thomas Fishero of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Veedersburg EUB Church with Rev. Bennett Fulp of Crawfordsville officiating assisted by Rev. Samuel Pritchard. The body will lie in state at the church one and one-half hours prior to services. The Ferguson Funeral Home of Attica is assisting with arrangements. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
